I have a full version of win xp sp2 install in a computer. I have already activated winxp and works fine. Then I install the same original copy of winxp in a second computer about 3 weeks ago. I used a program to unlock winxp in the 2nd computer. Now when I boot-up the 2nd computer windows tells me "You have 3 days left to activate windows, do you want to activate now yes or now." When I select yes another screen comes up and says "windows is already activated" then I select ok and everything runs fine. I would like to know, is there going to be a problem on the 2nd computer after the time is up. Note: The winxp sp2 I have is the original copy not a back-up copy or a upgrade version. And I have already used the activation key in the 1st computer. If anybody has an answer for this Please help. Thank You
That's gonna be a problem, because, unless you have a corporate version, you can only install it on 1 computer. I'm sure there are ways around it, but it's not anything you'll be seeing links to here.
You're not permitted to install XP on more than one computer with a normal user license unless its the corporate.
How Come this happens. When windows gives me the message "you have 3 days to activate windows, do you want to activate windows Yes or No." I select Yes and then windows say " Windows is already activated." When the 3 days are done will it shows this message again. Please replay Thank You
Well it shows the message, because XP has already been activated on your other PC. You said:I used a program to unlock winxp in the 2nd computer. If this program, was, let's say...not endorsed by the Microsoft Corporation, then it is possible that it delayed/put the activation link on a loop or something.
So do you think that after the three days are left, that windows will still work Please reply Thank You
Waffle unfortunately it won't, As for XP Activation Cracks all they do is (which obviously you have used & which we do not condone as it is illegal) merely stick the activation in a loop so it never needs to be activated. If the activation crack worked you should not be seeing anything like this, basically with XP Home or Professional i believe you can install XP to any number of machines using the same key as long as it is not registered with microsoft. If it is registered it registers it in the knowledge its on one pc, so u can not have it running (the same key) at one time on more than one machine. Again, we do not condone the use of illegal material, software e.t.c So i suggest that you go and buy another copy of the Windows you want, or revert back to an OS you do have legal access to. - PX
