Hi,

I have a sony vaio laptop that I have had for about a year running win xp pro sp2 on it and a netgear WG511T PCMCIA card which I have had for about 6 weeks. I have been using the wireless PCMCIA card in this laptop perfectly well for about 6 weeks.

I decided to format my laptop and reinstall windows which i did fine. I started installing drivers and software and stuff following the reinstall of windows and everything went fine until I reinstalled the wireless PCMCIA card.

Now anytime I am connected to my wireless network and try to do anything at all on the laptop my CPU usage goes right up to around 100%

I have not had this problem before and cannot seem to fix it, any suggestions?

In task manager, which process is using the CPU the most? (when it goes to 100% of course)

Hi, my task manager doesnt seem configured to show percentages but k-wise the biggest process is an svchost process at around 19000 ish k. However when I end this process the cpu usage stays at around 100%...Other large processes are explorer at around 19000 and inetinfo at about 9000

I have found that if I remove the PCMCIA card cpu usage drops down to aroun 2%, as soon as I plug it in it rockets back up. It goes to 100% even with no apps open

Ive followed the installation instructions to the letter, downloaded the latest driver and tried some different configurations but nothing is stopping this problem!
