Wireless Router USB support

I've just moved back to England and have registered for internet with a company called Tiscali. When they sent me the DSL modem I found that it only supported USB (rather than ethernet cable).

Is this normal? In the past I have always used a LAN cable to connect my PC to the router which then connects the same way to the modem.

I am buying a new router and don't have my old one here. Do routers support USB? I can't remember ever seeing a USB port in a router.

I've only seen USB ADSL modems, not routers.

Usually, with ADSL you'll get a modem, like a Speedtouch 330 which only has a USB port i think, but really you should have the option to use the better LAN connection.

I was supplied with a Sagem modem for my DSL connection.
There are only two ports on the back of the modem - 1 USB port and 1 telephone line port (connects to the wall).
Im currently not using a router, but would like to know whether I should:

a) Buy a new modem which supports LAN rather than USB.
b) Buy a router which supports USB (Im not sure if routers commonly support USB).

yes, some do have USB & can work through USB and ethernet at the same time

you'd be better buying an ethernet router & a cheap network card
