After adding a 128 mb memory into a current 128mb (same brand Kingstone PC 133Mhz) it shows a flash error and reboots over and over again after windows logo appear, here's the error reads like "A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer. An attempt was made to write to read only memory. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need. if problems continue, disable or removed newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory option such as caching or shadowing.......Technical information ****STOP: 0x000000BE (0xF98C3000, 0x01E72121, 0x0000000A) ****Mup.sys - Address F98C3000 base.....

    More info:

i checked the 2 slots and the newly purchased memory by testing it one at a time, it works fine and it loads normally to windows. But adding them both will give me an error as same above.

    Xp +1700 AMD Athlon 1.47Ghz
    Ge force MX400 64MB

    your help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks

What kind of motherboard do you have? Motherboards have a limit to the maximum supported amount of memory, some more than others. Also, if one stick of RAM is faster than the other, and the motherboard is running at the faster speed of the two, you'll likely have problems. In that situation you're effectively overclocking your RAM. Finally, try Memtest86+ to test your RAM out. Give it a few cycles on each stick individually, then together.

    i have a V266B Rev. 3.0 motherboard, A12 BIOS Version.
I just test them individually and it works fine. Based on the test
both had given the same performance. Right now i can't use my new RAM. Please help me with this problem.

Ahh, is that a Jetway V266B? That board has slots for both SDRAM and DDR -- is one stick SDRAM and the other DDR? If so, you cannot use both types simultaneously!

Try upgrading to the A13 bios and see if that helps. You can get it here.
