    Hi
I'm sure many people have run into this registry error for XP.
I have XP Home Edition SP3 32bit. Here is the microsoft sight that I'm trying to trouble shoot at
How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting
Currently I'm doing it manually, I go through all parts but I think that my main problem is with the command prompts. For the first and last parts of the trouble shooting steps Im supposed to enter in a bunch of command prompts in my XP recovery console.

when I type in a command (as directed by microsoft) such as

    copy C:\windows\system32\config\systemc:\windows\tmp\system.bak
after typing it in, underneath it will say something to the effect of file or directory not found. However I do continue with the other command lines though.
    When I type
    copy c:windows\repair\software c:\windows\system32\config\software
    I get an affirmative response.
Perhaps because I'm typing in the command lines in some sought of odd way the trouble shooting process is not working. Even though I'm doing exactly as Microsoft says.
Can anyone please give some feed back, thanks.
