I have a Dell Demension 3000 desktop. It runs as slow as as I do (I only have one leg) and wonder what to do to make it faster. A friend told me to use it as a anchor but I can't afford a new one. I have removed several of the installed programs and paused all applications except one when the computer starts. I was told I can increase memory which is 236mb. What can I do to avoid spending a lot of money?

Hi there, new to forum so this is first post. I have an acer spire T180, stuffed 4 sticks of ram in it, a better graphics card and on a performance rating the GPU is letting the side down. It's on a MCP61SM-AM board with a AMD 64x2 Dual core 4200+ 2.20 GHz. Can anyone recommend a better upgrade CPU for this board? The machine is used as a home pc and online games machine. Thanks

Just want to tell you and the other (not godfathers...no, only one of those... hmmmm... what are sniper and the other moderators...dons?) what a great job you've done keeping this place nice. I was on another forum this week that wasn't as well monitored and was shocked to be flamed (is that the word for belittling nastiness?) for posting a question. It was just a few young guys exercising their 'wit' at my ignorance, but it felt like a shark feeding frenzy. I was stunned - not by the perpetrators so much as the lack of moderating presence I'd been used to here. So just wanted you to know that your efforts and standards are appreciated.
