Help with Rainbow 6 Vegas

Hi, i was bought rainbow 6 vegas for my birthday and im trying to patch it, patch 1.01 installed fine but 1.02 wont install, it just keeps coming up with "setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" any ideas on how to sort this?

and how come the game doesnt require you to input the serial key during installation :S

Because in most games you only have to enter the key if you want to use the online playing features.

o i see. thanks. does anyone else have this game, its so good i'd even go as far as saying it could well be better than GRAW:)
