yes knowledge is a wonderful thing & the best gift anyone can give, however, i'm now stuck with networking & stuff, there is a hell of a lot to learn

i'm actually scared of reading the pages i need to read to fully understand it, but, i have forced myself into read the info i need to understand, if anyone else gets scared, just take your time & you will (maybe as i did, "force yourself") get around to reading it

BTW: i haven't installed my new router correctly yet, i'm waiting until i know what i'm doing, because, the router is basically, the daddy of SOHO routers

You could always read the user manual :) (the manual is not just packaging material). I always try to configure a device without a manual, but sometimes I do need to read it.

i have been reading the user manual (that's what convinced me i'm just kidding myself, thinking i can continue to learn) i was in fact referring to webpages on wiki, but, i am trying, but, learning stuff seems to go against the grain, maybe i'm too old, maybe not, i just don't know. what does everyone think ?
 
The manual for a router is probably pretty useless most of the time. My manual didn't say anything about how it actually works. It tells you how to change settings, that's about it. You're mostly on your own to figure out what the various features actually do and why.
