Building PC . Budget £1100 // $2187 -Need Advice.

Hello everyone Well that's me ready to spend £1100 or $2187
ok the thing i defenetly want in my pc is the following


Graphics Card:
Geforce 8800 Ultra or Geforce 8800 GTX

Hard drive :

500GB is enough i think.

Ram:

4GB i think or more,

well thats it basicly thats the only things i know that i want to have on my pc i dont know about the rest like Motherboard , processor , soundcard and more so please can u guys help me the pc im building is a Gaming PC only,

For starters don't get a 8800Ultra or GTX i suggest you get the 8800GT there is an super clocked version of it that EVGA sell and apparently it outperforms a 8800GTX and its only around £200 so you get a lot of bang for bucks.

as for hard drive i recommend this: Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache

As for memory what do you want DDR2 or 3? I'm guessing you want DDR2 so i recommend this: G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-6400C5 (2x2GB). Why not go for 8GB?

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.66GHz 12MB-cache

Mobo: MSI P7N Diamond nForce 780i SLi (Socket 775) Now this mobo comes with a sound card NOT IN BUILT SOUND but a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme card. It's one of the best nForce 7 mobos out there.


PSU: OCZ GameXStream 850w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply I chose a high wattage psu because you might want to go Sli in the future but that's your choice and you could go for a lower wattage to save you money.

OS: Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Edition OEM

Case: Thermaltake LCS Kandalf Full Tower Black. Choosing the case is really up to you depends on your taste but i highly recommend this case does everything you want and it has IN BUILT WATER COOLING SYSTEM, it is a bit pricey.

All of this comes to a grand total of: £1100

But I suggest you find better prices on other website like Scan to bring the cost down. You can bring it down by like £70 if you buy parts from OCUK and SCAN.

If your talking about what an 8800GT is then i'm surprised seen as you know what a GTX and Ultra is. 8800GT is a mid/high range card of the 8800 series it is actually the best card out of the series for the price.

I will try and explain overclocking, a normal 8800GT runs at this:

- GeForce 8800 GT core running at 600MHz
- Shader Clock Speed of 1500MHz
- 512MB GDDR3 Memory running at 1800MHz

But an overclocked version runs faster and basically is more powerful:

- GeForce 8800 GT core running at 720MHz
- Shader Clock Speed of 1728MHz
- 512MB GDDR3 Memory running at 2000MHz

That's what overclocking is all about, hope you understand a little more.

The EVGA 8800 GT 512MB AKIMBO that i recommended outperforms a 8800GTX. So it's worth getting this card, but that's up to you. There are a lot more 8800GT cards to chose from depends on your budget but this one is the best. If the Akimbo is too expensive then i recommend you get this not a big difference in performance but it's cheaper and you get Crysis for free with it :D :
