odd startup problem

hi
i did some throughout testing to my pc which stopped working few days ago. it gives no picture at all in screen at startup and OS wont load. fans and stuff spin.
to find the problem i removed all devices then i changed CPU , Mobo, PSU, GPU and monitor. but since none of those helped i thought it was the Mobo that was broken but when i put old mobo with its own stuff (mem, CPU and third PSU) it didnt work either! same problem. which i dont understand why both of my computers malfunction the same way. so only thing i could think at this point was that the computer case is somehow bad and causing this problem.. could it be? i think this is very strange , seems like both my mobos are broke.


and if the details matter:
CPU: Athlon II X4 630/AM3 2.80GHz 2MB-L2 95W
PSU: ANTEC PSU 650W 12CM ATX12V2.2 80+
RAM: 1GB 1333MHZ DDR3 NON-ECC CL9 DIMM
Mobo: MSI 770-C45 (AM3 AMD770 DDR3 SATA GLAN ATX)
GPU: sapphire HD 4850 512mb
 
Hi, have you got an onboard speaker on your motherboard? if so when you remove an essential component e.g. RAM do you get any beep error codes? if so you can rule out your motherboards bios chip. You've basically got a NO post machine it's a fault with the following: motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics card, power supply unit and in some cases cpu fan. You'll have to troubleshoot your way through prefferably starting with ram.
Your computer case has nothing to do with the problem, as it's not causing your system to short.

hey thx for the repply the 770-C45 does not have place for pc-speaker but the other had and it gave no beep (with and without ram it seems).
with the 770-C45 board i have removed everything and switched rams leaving only one and then none but its the same.
 
what do u know, the board did have PC-speaker and i plug in a speaker but it gave no beeps even i took of the ram.
what could this tell?

maybe i should try without videocard to see if it beeps?
 
Hi, you say it has an onboard speaker but when removing an essential component you get no beep error codes, generally a sign of a faulty bios chip/controller or motherboard could be any essential controllers that have been damaged such as memory controller, system bus controller etc. You can try removing the graphics card, cpu, but I think your wasting your time. Did you try the power supply unit out of your old machine? have you made sure you have the 4pin 12v power connector attached to the motherboard needed for cpu power this can also cause your system not to post.
 
Check the PSU and make sure you didn't inadvertently change the wattage. IIRC, if it's on the wrong setting it'll act as you describe.

If that still doesn't do it, pop the CMOS battery out to reset the BIOS to factory & see what happens.

Please post back either way. I'm curious to know if this fixes the problem.

Even when you re-booth that problem still appears? Chances are something has gone wrong something needs to be checked internally by a technician. You may be right about your mobos.
