does gx280 motherboard supports pentium d processor????

    i have bios updated to "A03" and i have a pentium d processor.....it will support my motherboard or not?????

    You need to know what Motherboard you have and the socket, This will let you know on what processor's will work... Download a program called Everest, It is a identifer software.. Is this a DELL GX280 ?

    Is it a Tower or Desktop Or small form factor ? It looks like a 775 socket.. What size is your processor now..??

    i want to install pentium d 3.4ghz with 4mb cache.......

    It should work, just as long that the 3.4 ghz is a 775 socket... Let me look..

    Suppose if use this processor on my board and its not supported does it will hurt my pc ???

    Your Motherboard is a LGA-775 socket and it says it will support CPU's up to 3.8.., But It will have to be for 775 socket...
    May I ask why do you want to upgrade to the 3.4 ghz ? I don't think you will notice any difference.. How much ram do you have ?

    What does it say on the CPU, give me some info from the chip...
