i knocked over a cup before this happened but it's hard to believe that it caused it because the cup definitely did not hit the monitor hard, maybe this was caused by a drop of water on the monitor that i didn't clean?

a pink line came up 1/5 up the bottom of the screen, branched in 3-4 lines at the bottom. i read that applying slight pressure might help, but it widened instead. is this an internal leak or dead pixels? i am running a pixel flashing app now but i don't know if it will help.

can it be fixed/repaired? i also would like to know where else i could post this in hardware forums by suggestion, thanks in advance

here's a photo of the area where it got spread:

You do not say what size and make and model this Monitor is ? It would be cheaper to just buy another Monitor than to have one fixed.. If it is a 19 or 20 inch, then you can get those for under $100.00 bucks..

yes, i know it's easy to buy a monitor and i'd buy a better one when i have the chance but i'm trying to see if this is fixable till then because the monitor is still good except for that line

Can you try that monitor on another computer, To rule out your video card.. All Video problems will be either Monitor going out or Video card or a Bad driver.

it's the monitor, same area of pixels not showing when i unplug the video cable, against blue and black it shows less but it is still slightly visible. the line got spread just the past few hours, it was at 1/5 up the screen and now it is an inch up going to 1/4 the screen
