Screen flickering on new graphics card.

Big Geek
I recenty installed a new Radeon 9250 AGP 128MB card in my PC and bought a new mouse. Occasionally, when using the keyboard and or the mouse, the screen will flicker in that dialog boxes with start to pop up all over the place then this will stop and things go back to normal. This does not happen that often and I can live with it - but it is a little annoying at times.

I'm just left wondering if the fault lies with the graphics card or the mouse, as I bought them at the same time? The mouse is optical. I have never had one of these before. Should I be using a mouse-mat with it, as I was told there should be no need, or would/should this not make any difference as far as the screen problems are concerned?

Cheers,

David.

sounds more than a little annoying, try removing and reinsterting the grfx card (to ensure a good connection) if that doesnt work try updating you grafx drivers

no optical mice work on nearly any surface (except water)

I've reseated the card just for the Hell of it, will wait to see if the problem happens again. I had thought of updating the grafx drivers. The card, of course, came with a driver CD for Windows - but I'm soley using Linux now and don't know how to go about trying to get drivers that will work for the card in Linux.

I'll have a scurry round on the Net to see what I can come up with.
