Ok, an update. I will be using this on a 300w power supply. the card needs to be run on a 300-350w power supply for the minimum. also, it states that it needs about 18-20 amps on the +12v rail, while i only have 15. while i may be able to run the card, would i have problems with sudden...

From my understanding and experience with that particular program, it seems to not be compatible with all CPUs, contrary to what one would think. try another program and see if you get the same result

I've had a look at that particular heatsink before but currently i don't have the means to purchase it. Ive had other people tell me that the stock intel heatsink is sufficient for basic use, especially if im not overclocking, and im not. it almost seems as if its not absorbing heat properly...

Its probably the fact that you are pulling data from an ISO instead of the actual CD/DVD itself. disk virtualization can be slow. also, even ISOs can fragment. its happened to me on my system.

make absolutely sure that the cpu is sitting flush with the socket, that its in the right way, and then go ahead and latch that puppy down. their usually is some resistance when you lock it down to assure that it doesnt wiggle around. you want your cpu as stable as possible.
