Might I suggest the 8800gs? Double the preformance of an 8600gt for not much more $$. I purchased one recently and couldn't be happier(upgrading from a 7900gs).

I have never heard of ping affecting fps either, but just to test if it is affecting it, try playing bf2142 on single player and see if you get the same fps.
I don't know much about psu's but wouldn't use a case psu with a system like that.

I figured out the problem, it was just that my dvd drive was messed up, so I found my old cd drive, plugged it in and installed drivers.

Yes I can but I cant open anything on the cd or dvd.
What I mean by that is I can't just open the cd and run the exec file or I will just get the same error message telling me that D:\ is not a valid windows operation or w/e.

Then when I rebooted I still had the same problem.
A few days ago I posted about a dvd drive not being detected. I fixed that by reinstalling my drivers, this time I have a new problem. My dvd will not recgonize any cd or dvd. It simply says "D:\ is not a valid Win32 application."
