Okay i'm posting this here as its about cooling... Well i have just been wondering whether SpeedFan accurately measures temeratures.
I usually use CoreCentre (an MSI utility that came with my Motherboard) to do this but recently is has been giving me error messages when the computer loads up saying 'Failed to Load Hardware Monitor' then when ok is clicked another error message saying 'No Hardware Monitor' then once ok is clicked again system immediately reboots (no logging off or shutting down)
The temps in core centre and speed fan used to be fairly similar, speed fan sometimes measured +/-3*C, but i have just read my cpu temperature at 19*C! I know it dropped to 25*C since i got this new cooler but surely not 19*C? If only core centre worked i could find out for sure as Core Centre is an MSI utility and i think can be trusted more than SpeedFan. If SpeedFan is telling the truth then YAAAY, if not then oh well...

i have speed fan and it is fairly accurate with me, to solve those problems try reinstalling or repairing windows, or well first try reinstalling speedfan.

on my old 1.2ghz celeron computer all i use speedfan for is shutting down the cpu fan, i dont get why it says no hardware monitor found, becouse your mobo is fairly simaler to mine, well its the same type (865pe) so i suspecs it will have simaler hardware monitors on, so speedfan may be faulty, try downloading it again

yeah although its not speed fan that says no hardware monitor, its the corecentre utility that i got with the motherboard, i really dont know why, oh well, i'll just keep using speed fan then :good:

Download Motherboard Monitor (i think the newest is 5.something), i have found it
very accurate and precise and if you have a HDD with a temp sensor it displays that too!

precision isn't in the software, it's the probes on your motherboard. Each software that monitors temps should give same exact results as another, just because they are reading the same probes.

I know that its the probes and each software should be the same but theyre not the same. I had speedfan and MBM5 running at the same time and speedfan was showing a +2.0C difference! go figure.

I guess speed fan is set to compensate to something for your motherboard. Maybe something like that.
