Same happens to me, sometimes I can be sitting logged into gmail and I get a new mail refresh whenever one comes, sometimes I have to manually refresh the page. My thoughts would be sometimes gmail doesn't communicate fully with the computers at times. It's still in beta after all. ;)

I meet the recommended spec exactly, but my graphics card is a Gforce 6600GT so I think I may be out of luck.

Have you checked that Silent Hunter 4 can run on Vista? The thing with Vista is that if it doesn't say one way or the other, it usually means it can't run on Vista, at least not without a patch.

The best part of the Oblivion storyline was the Dark Brotherhood quest-line. A very talented writer is behind that and that person has been given the job of writing the whole Fallout 3 storyline.

I highly recommend (if you haven't already got it) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. A simply amazing game, with a rich storyline and enough content to keep you occupied until the cows come home and learn to fly.
