Google every process running in the background and see if you can find one that shouldn't be there. It might be interfereing with launching games.

Run chkdsk "drive" -r to check the drive (where "drive" is your drive designation) and repair any bad sectors if at all possible. See if that removes the yellow exclamation mark and "error" text.

Despite being an ATi fanboy, I'd reccommend the 7950GT XXX. Twice the memory (Amount of memory is beginning to matter more and more for those quality textures in the latest video games) and just as fast. I'd still reccommend a 512mb 1900XTX if you come accross one. Mike
