I've got an Athlon XP 3000+ (333mhz version) CPU and MSI K7N2 Delta-L mobo. What's really strange is that my CPU becomes very unstable when the voltage is set to what it's suppost to be at (1.65v) and if the FSB is set to a correct 166. I can have the correct voltage if the FSB is set at 160...

Does anyone know how to disable those annoying flashing lights on case fans? Wouldn't be so bad if they were on constantly ... but they flash and distract!! :swt:

Seems those are hard to get hold of here in the UK. :( The 3 main UK sites I visit are dabs.com, microdirect.co.uk and overclockers.co.uk. Ideally, I need something that's fairly quiet (if not silent!), good at cooling and is under £25 (about $45).

I thought I had a major CPU problem but I have now found it out ... case temperature. I found out that it doesn't freeze when I have the side panel removed yet when it's put back on, it rises up about ten celcius and usually crashes. So my question is this ... is there such thing as a low cost...

Well, I've got the FSB up to 164 and it seems to be happy running at that with no crashes at all. But as soon as I go to 165 or over, then problems start. Should I just be happy with it at 164?

Well, I've been messing with FSB speed and for some reason, it doesn't like anything above 133. I'm currently running at 133 and it seems fine. My heatsink/fan is Thermaltake TR2-M3 SE. Haven't played with memory yet but that's something for tommorrow ... when I'm more awake!

Well, I have no problem getting hold of the Athlon XP CPUs ... I can get them from most places and even eBay. I'm not intending overclocking it but I need a decent one for games etc. But which would give me more bang for my buck? Athlon or Sempron? Thanks!

:D *pelvic thrust* It was the jumpers! I just wiggled them and hey presto, it now works and I have my 2400XP back! But why it registered as a 2400XP before when I didn't mess with the jumpers, I don't know! :confused:

Well, I actually found my motherboard's manual and I read about the jumpers (seeing as how I've never messed with them before!) and according to the manual, it has always been set to safe/100 mode. But I changed it to user/default mode, and it wouldn't even get past the POST. I thought I had...

I notice your mobo is the same as mine (MSI K7N2 Delta-L) ... could be an inherent fault ... although I doubt it! I'm just stumped.
