My mate has got that chip with a X48 mobo and ddr3 and got it running at 3.8 stable. but my question to you is do you really want to spend more money on a mobo only to get out 400mhz extra???? i honestly don't think it will make such a huge difference only hardcore gamers will go out and do it...

alright stop the fight guys no need for violence :) anyways I would recommend you go for a AMD phenom system hooked up with a P35 mobo 4GB memo and 4850 for the graphics. If your not one of these Vista haters then go for vista home premium 64 bit (why not splash)

It depends on how good his PSU is, the 8800Ultra is power hungry so i would double check if the PSU can take the load along with all of the rig.

What Operating System are you going to get?????? If your going to use XP then 2GB would be ok but i also recommend you get 4GB

Yeah i would say that you have very little amount of memory but i would also suggest you do a bit of disk cleaning and then defragment hard drive just to improve things a little. Also do a virus/spyware sweep just in case.
