Front panel indicators:trying to wire them to the mobo

I think Ive figured most of it out, besides the power LED. It has three connections on the mobo: two positive and one negative(standby signal) according to the manual. My front panel only has one positive and one negative though, so which positive mobo connector do I use? Also with the...

19" CRT or LCD for gaming

As always, thanks for the in-depth reply exfoliate. Also, most LCD's max out at a 85Mhz refresh rate. With V-sync on, that means all my games will also max at 85 fps correct? Some CRT's however can have up to 140-150Mhz refresh rates. However I still am leaning towards the LCD, because from...

    nVidia chipsets, what's the difference?

I thought about that, because of the 2 pci-e x16 slots,do you know what all that would consist of, and how to do it?

    nVidia chipsets, what's the difference?

I'm really wanting the DFI Infinity because of overclocking ability, but it has the nforce4 chipset, and this will be a gaming machine. Are the nforce 550's and 570's noticably better or would i be happy with the nforce 4. It's either the Infinity board or the ABIT KN9S board. Here are links to...

Sorry, another "Which graphics card?" question

Also, do you think that the price of the 512MB X1900XT will drop even more after the 256MB version is released?

New 256mb Geforce 6600LE slower than Old ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128!!

The amount of memory is basically just a marketing scheme. Pay more attention to clock speeds, pixel pipelines, vertex shaders, etc. Also do some research and try to find benchmarks for any cards you want to compare, It will give you a good idea of its performance.

Sorry, another "Which graphics card?" question

I'm trying to decide on which card to get, the ATI X1900GT or the X1800XT??? Its confusing because some 1800's perform better than 1900's so I'm stuck. I start getting confused with all the suffixes-GT, XT, XTX, XL, bla bla bla. Here are the two I was considering, even though I'm leaning...

    Questions

How does the Conroe E6300 compare to AMD chips? What would be its AMD equivalent? Does it perform better than say, an AMD 4000+ single core AM2? The only reason I ask is because all tests I've seen dont include the E6300 because it's enty-level.

!!nvidia Quad Sli Consumer Support Released!!

i heard quad is not all thet great. Tom's Hardware benchmarks show that two 7900GTX's are better than two 7950GX2's. The only reason for someone to go quad is if he has a 30' monitor or is tryin to push maximum resolutions. Maybe they need to test the drivers more though, because that doesn't...

    Which Motherboard for gaming?

How exactly do you flash the BIOS? Do you do it from the BIOS interface or in Windows?

Case Fans: Even Intake and Exhaust

OK I've figured it out. I'm going to put two intakes in the front and one in the side and one exhaust in the back and on top. That should even it out along with the PSU exhaust. Scratch the 120mm. Are 5 case fans too much? Does anyone else have this many?

Case Fans: Even Intake and Exhaust

Yes, my case has an air duct on the side that is right above the CPU. I forgot about the PSU fan. Then should I have the two front and one top fan be intake fans, while the 120mm rear be used as exhaust?

    Which Motherboard for gaming?

Thanks guys. This may be a noob question, but what is flashing the BIOS? And one reviewer on that Asus board said his would not take DDR800. Is DDR533 alot worse? Do you think it is possible to put 800 in? Sorry for all the darn questions, I just want to get this build right the first time through.

Case Fans: Even Intake and Exhaust

I'm going to have one 120mm intake fan in the rear, which rates at 80 cfm. And I will have 3 80mm exhaust fans, which, combined will have around 83 cfm. Is it correct to calculate it this way and will the 3 cfm make it too uneven(I wouldnt think it would.) Also, I'm gonna have the 120mm...

    Which Motherboard for gaming?

This will be a ground-up PC build, my first one ever. I wanted to go 939 because everything 939 is cheaper right now. I have nothing against AM2 though. I'm looking for a board around $100 or less.
