    New AMD Build

from what I know, anchored cables are much safer than modular cables. People say that it's protected against burn outs because if the modular cables don't make a direct connection, it won't give out the proper amount of power and it will burn out. For the PSU brands, I would get a Corsair...

    New AMD Build

I'm not a PSU expert, but I do know some basic rules. Never get a cheap PSU (I believe you already know that) Make sure you do the maths, and add up all the minimum power required by your components and buy a PSU that add up to it with a little over. If you want more detail, have a look at Big...

    Intel versus AMD

Intel right now, have dominated almost all aspects of PC uses. AMD however, have fallen behind, but they still have a grip on the consumers on a budget offering pretty good cheap chips (X2 3600 for 80 bucks). Another point for AMD is that they still offer affordable SLi, with SLi ready boards...

Major Upgrade, advice required please :D

right now, i reckon 256 is about right for the games now, before, 64mb used to be enough, just as long as the chipset is good. THATS WHAT COUNTS THE CHIP ON THE GRAPHICS CARD. Remember the geforce 6600GT? it's only 128mb, but it could run Doom3 at 1024x768 with the eye candy on no problem, also...
