Just out of curiosity, does overclocking a processor to a speed as a higher rated processor make the two the same? Eg, if I overclock my Athlon 64 3000+ (1.8ghz) to 2.2 ghz, will it be the same as the 3500+ which runs at 2.2ghz?

what are all your systems stats? 7950gtx2 should fly through BF2... Ive got a 6800 and its fine on highest @ 1024 x 768...

Lol, similair problem here. My C: apperently uses 4.54 GB out of 9.30GB. When I select all the files in it, they total to 2.5GB.I install all my programs / whatever on a seperat 40GB Hard Disk... Windows has the entire C: for itself. Anyways, I think the rest is used up by the pagefile, which...

k. Can't find mutch that can be done, but try to manually take out the motherboard's BIOS battery. Looks like its on the very bottom right of the board. Leave it out for a while, (30secs) then put it back in. This might work; ive worked with a few BIOS's that didnt reset all their data by just...

hmm... Possibly DOA harware (motherboard by looks of it) ? Does the motherboard have error lights on it? mine has little LD's that go on when there is a video/ram/CPU error... Those might help... Ive had a problem or two myself with DOA hardware.

There are many of ways, but they are not neccessarily the most legal method... Other than those, I think your pretty much screwed over :(

Im not sure what you meant by them "reloading" it, but has your tried to reformat her hard disk and re-install windows? Hopefully, she knows how to, but if she doesn't, try getting someone to do it for her. Usually that gets the job done for me.

I have one quick question. Does overclocking your procerssor significantly lessen the life expectancy of it? I have an Athlon 64 Socket 939, Venice core. It's stock speed is 1.8Ghz, but I easily can, and have pushed it to 2.2Ghz with stock cooling. Would such an overclock reduce its life span...

;) LOL Computer caught fire! Was plugging in a hard disk I found, and the thing burns out, and the wires from my PSU start smoking and caght fire. Nothing was really damaged, except the hard disk, and I had to open up the PSU to remove burned wires. Thats what I get for buying a 20$ power supply :x:
