Try a BIOS update. That could solve your problem.
Make sure USB is enabled in your BIOS and that WAKE ON USB (if that's even an option) is disabled.
As for your IRQ's, I unfortunately do not no much about them. Sorry about that, I feel like I set you up on a hook and left you...

Scratches, unless theyre pretty gnarly, wouldnt cause the game to crash, after all, it loads the level from your HDD and into/onto your RAM. The CD is just there to verify that you didnt download the game or do some other illegal action with it
