check you boot order in the Bios, Does it show under the Bio's... Could try changing the boot order to the new drive to boot first.
Sounds like it needs a new PSU, plus you might to buy another Bio's Battery.
Well what is the hard drive you are trying to use ? Is it a sata or IDE ? do you have the second drive set at Master or slave ?
Are you running 2 video cards ? Well that would clash.. remove one then test..
