    It could be a bad ram stick or video card, these things a hard to narrow down,You will just have test each hardware piece..

    If you are running XP, then download Tweak UI for xp, install the program, and open it.. click on think general, make sure default beep is checked..

    uninstall it, the reinstall it..You can also try system restore to an earlier date.. If that doesn't work,try to download the newest driver for it..

    This is not a good sign..This usually means that the Motherboard is bad or fried.

    want to re-install xp on laptop

    what OS came with this laptop ? Win 98 ? 128 is too low for XP .. you will need to bump up the ram first..

    Problem with my fan(s)

    Does your laptop have a custom Video card in it.?? Most Games played on a laptop will cause it to over heat..They just heat up fast..
