I would definitely go with the XFX Branded 8800gt you posted.
you may consider aiming for the 8800 (256mb or 512mb version)
you could jump for that 8800gt 256mb, which will destroy the 3850. Only about $40 more.
You most definitely can, just make sure you get a good heatsink/fan, I got the Arctic freezer 7. I'm at 2.8ghz right now. Slowly pushing for 3.0ghz.
