Depends on your preference.. So you're saying when you switched from ultra settings to high settings and 1280x1024 your fps went from 47 to 82? Pretty much logical, you lowered settings so you gained more fps.At ultra settings and 1080p on a 1080p monitor, you'll probably get lower fps than 47...
