Of course in games will use that much power, the CPU is @ 100% in game as I have a single core CPU and all the power is been used. You have an X2 so in some games they could well be using only 50% of the CPU.

Well, you click find max core, which overclocks the core, THEN do the memory, when you get artifacts, STOP, and lower the speed.

Yea you stop when the yellow crap appears, and lower your clocks slightly, and test, same for core and memory. @Izzy Huh, I have never had an X1900 series card :s, last card was an X800XTPE, got the 8800GTS about 3 weeks ago.

Yea, when you open the 3DView thing in ATi Tools you get artifacts? if you get it whilst on maximum core and memory, that means your card cant be a good overclocker if it does it straight away, and by the sounds of it, with those temperatures, looks like its the case.

Yea, I have a Nvidia 8800GTS, I still use ATi Tool :p, its for all ATi and Nvidia cards.

I am not sure, but maybe its been throttled?, run a game or something and see if it goes back to 3.4ghz. Resetting the bios might help too.

Yea, use a program called ATi Tool, and use the find max core and find max memory and it will auto overclock. Be carefull though, and watch the temperatures too, and you should be find :)

Well, it does its job, more or less benchmarks the whole system. With 3Dmark 06 there is a CPU score, SM3.0/HDR, SM2.0, so its a preety good indicator of the power of someones system, my CPU only got around 1000, 863 before overclock, a 3800+ gets around 2000 because its dual core.

I am not sure if it will fit, but its around 1inch longer than a standard ATX Motherboard, you might have to do some midification to the case to get it in. The Hiper Type-R will be enough to run an 8800GTS, I dont know about a GTX, on another forum loads of people have been reporting that...

Its not the motherboard, its the CPU, most CPU's (Core 2 Duo, Athlon 64) have 64-bit these days. Why are you wanting to use XP 64bit? less driver and application compatability for it, just use 32-bit, will save you problems if you find some apps dont work when using 64bit.

I might just buy a 3800+ and overclock it to 2.8ghz, only £50, currently got my 3700+ back to 2.8ghz, got 13,550 in 3DMark 05 and 7221 in 06 which aint bad for my rig.

If someone is lagging in game, and people say they need more memory, if they only got 1GB, why??? why if the current memory usage is only like 79% all with 21% free... Yea Jackal sorry, I dont know why I was thinking crysis was DX10 only, I am getting mixed up with lots of stuff.
