0x02 Bad_pool_caller ???

I got a BSOD today...

it said

Which hardware could be causing it and does anyone have any solution ?

My computer also froze ones a few days ago.
Normally my computer is very compliant but now I've gotten two errors this week. It feels like something is going on ! :(
 
Bad_pool_caller is probably driver related but is a quite a vague messge as it seems to relate to all types devices. What were you doing when it all kicked off?

I wasn't doing much at all, surfing on the Internet etc etc. I have a lot of background programs and processes on by all means (all which I want them there) like downloading stuff, runing BOINC and RC-72 (if those tell anybody anything)

Something that I did notice though is that on both occasions when I got the errors I was using one of my mouses when it occured.

I don't do that so often really, well, or rather I watch a lot of movies and stuff and just leaving the PC alone and there don't seem to be any errors then. The thing is also that I have two mouses installed on it, two keyboards and two monitors on two different locations, so I can use the same computer even if I'm in two different rooms. How ever I have done this for a while already and it haven't caused any problems earlier... I don't know...

There was nothing at all in the event viewer though I had the right settings in "Startup and recovery" how ever I noticed that I didn't even had a "Minidump" folder in "WINNT" so that is maybe why it didn't write any minidump file. :confused:

I have now created one so maybe next time I'll get better debugging information.

I run Win2K pro if that is any help !
 
I forgot to ask, have you only got this problem once or is it a recurring nasty?

That aside the same old question has to be asked, have you changed anything recently? If so at least it gives you a good clue of where to look.

These problems do occur frequently with mice. It might be worth checking the compatibility of your mice with WIndows just to see if the drivers may be a cause of problems. HOw do you connect these mice / keyboards / monitors? KVM switch?
 
Hm, if you say so, I didn't think it could be because of the mouse, but you never know...

No it had never happened earlier and no it have not happened since, so it seems like it was a one/two time thingy.

I checked and re-attached all mouse cables, to be sure there is no glitches.
It could have been it.

Both mouses are Logitech marble mouses, I'm kind of fond of them so the drivers are ok that much I know, they are both directly installed to the computer, no switches or so, one is on a PS/2 and the other is on a USB slot. :confused:
