1080i vs. 720p

Do any of you guys with HD TV's have an opinion on this matter? I'm looking into a new set and I've heard that 720p actually looks better as it's not interlaced (doesn't fill in every odd line and then cycle back to finish the job). 1080i doesn't bother me as you'll get more raw detail but I'd hook up my PS2 and Xbox 360/PC to it so I want it to look as good as it can. Thoughts? Thanks.
 
I'd have to say 720p!
720p has better temporal resolution. It excels at reproducing rapidly
moving objects without blurring, thanks to its full-frame progressive scanning, which never chops up the frame. It's also better at graphics. Most mass-market tube and projection displays top off at about 800 lines anyway, including many supposedly 1080 - line models.
 
Thanks man, I was thinking that too but the only problem is no CRT tubes support 720p, just the expensive and tinier LCD's. I'd prefer one of them but paying hundreds more for several less inches isn't the best plan for me. I'll look around but it may have to be CRT 1080i or nothing:(
