lol ok heres where i turn into a newb
got a big regualr monitor wire going into my gfx card at the mo for my current monitor
i want to add ANOTHER monitor
now i dont have another socket for the same wiring but is it possible to add another one to that gfx though another type of connection?
ok, lol, some monitors have a vga connector, wich connects to a BLUE connector on back of graphics card, some moitors mostly tft monitors, have a DVI connector (I THINK) wich is a cream color, but i belive the vga connector is on some monitors wich are anolouge, and dvi is for digital, now, you may either have 2 of the cream slots on your graphics card, or 1 blue and 1 cream, or 2 blue.
yes, you can but these special connectors so dvi-vga, or vga-dvi i think, so if you only have the blue connectors on your graphics card then you buy this connector, and you plug wire from monitor into it and then you plug into graphics card.
give me a min, al fine a pic of it for you.
thats what you need if your second monitor dont seem to be able to connect to the graphics card.
yeah you can definately run two monitors, if its a monitor with a DVI connection (white male) then your right but if its a regular crt then youll need the DVI-VGA adapter (one probably came with your card!)
BTW if ur a hardcore gamer you should buy some RAMSINKS for your card!
any graphics card that has 2 connectors on means you can dual monitor, well most modern cards you can anyway, also you can run 3 display alltogether, a tv in the s-video socked, and monitor in the other 2, but tv's really do have a crap picture on, unless you use it on a good tv like a 100hz flat screen tv or plazma/lcd tv.
no no, you dont want ramsinks for your card, for somthing like an ati radeon 9600 xt you want an ati silencer 2 arctic cooler., i have one, but it dint say on the website that it was only for xt and pro.
i think i payed £18 for mine, too bad i cant adapt it :p
I'm not going to come here and say all cards are like this but my X800 Pro can only push a maximum of 20 monitors. I have a dual monitor setup but when I want to watch movies on my TV I have to disable the secondary monitor to enable the TV.
ok right
i bought my other monitor.. and the adaptor for it
the DVI adaptor..
now i see the bios setup etc.. on both monitors when im starting computer up but as it gets to windows the DVI one goes black and the VGA one keeps a picture for a few seconds then goes black aswell if i unplug the DVI out of the computer i get a picture back on the VGA..
how can i keep a picture on both?
You need to go into your display advanced settings and find the twin monitor display setup wizard that will guide you through the setup! Only then will it display on both monitors properly.
