Access Outlook via a different profile.

For some reason, during an update of iTunes, my computer crashed - upon restarting, I cannot log on using my profile. I can manage to log on under an alternative profile. I've tried starting in safe mode, tried to resort to earlier settings, but nothing seems to work.

I have started backing up my files, and want to run the restart discs, but before I do that, I need to get access to my email, so I can save them.

Can someone please advise how I can find these mails (I'm using Outlook 2000), so I can save them and bottom out my machine.

Hope this all makes sense - alternatively, if someone can help with me getting access to my profile again, that would be great.

hmmm, I have a problem similar to this. I had one main account on my computer and then i decided to create another one, but my e-mail account (outlook express) is not there. I can't even find outlook express! Any help on how to transfer this over?

its easy in OE, OE strores the emails in .dbx files there is a program called dbxtract4.5.exe for XP & for Win9x you need version dbxtract4.4.exe, not sure about Win2k,

just search for dbxtract.exe (add 4.4 or 4.5 depending on your OS) on your fav search engine
outlook 2k may work the same

whitch OS are you using chusha ?

for the location of the .dbx files just search your HDD for files named *.dbx

P.S. use recover mode in dbxtract, and set the source and destination, then select folder

to

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNEWUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{?????-??????-?????-?????-???????????\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

MS.OUTLOOK - copy the pst file from

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUROLDUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
to


C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNEWUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Be sure to set Show Hidden Files and Folders option in your Floder Options under the Control Panel. (ControlPanel>FolderOptions>View>Show Hidden Files and Folders)
