these are funny, but on that, some one needs to make a linux add and be like, hey instead of buying all new hardware, just install Linux, and then the windows guys would be like, well you'll still have to buy the software, and then the Linux guy would just look over at him and stare, and then the windows guy you say, you don't have to buy the software, and the linux guy would say, you don't have to buy anything, and the windows guy would say, you don't have to buy the software, and the Linux guy would say, you don't have to buy the software. Then the windows guy would kinda look away and kinda say under his breath but in a condescending way YOU don't have to buy the software...
 
well, yeah, your right, PC's are like cars, yeah they've improved, but if you look under the bonnet / hood, it looks like some things were an after thought, like the starter motor, would you have put it there ?[ot]cos i know i wouldn't have[/ot]
 
i wonder if people would donate towards advertising costs, linux needs more exposure...
 
for business use yeah, on there servers... i was meaning something more aimed at home users.

A Linux Desktop would work perfectly as a work machine, the default install of most distributions has everything thats needed (minus multimedia codecs and decent graphics support, in ubuntu's case anyway) and its going to keep on working, no matter whats thrown at it.
 
lol, wow, i completely forgot, or more so spaced, that there isn't really a company behind Linux, so there aren't really any adds. That said they should make a youtube video or something.
