Best motherboard manufacturer?

If someone knows, which motherboard manufacturer is the best - please, reply here. I'm totally confused searching for the one I need.

I've heard about respect to ASUS, but what about Gigabyte? Is there any other good ones?

I need a motherboard on Intel P35 chipset. Should I consider Intel X38? Which is better for me, if I'm going to have E6850 processor? What if Q6600?

P.S. ASUS have a heat pipe for memory in some of their motherboards, but I'm not sure, what Intel chipset it's using... do you know? Also, what chipset to consider?
 
Asus do indeed make good mobo's, as do Gigabyte, and there are other board makers out there that you could consider. e.g Foxconn and MSI. It really depends on the amount of cash that you are looking to spend.

A good well performing board to consider is Asus P5K Premium Wi-Fi Intel P35 LGA 775 - Aria Technology

Or around the same price the Foxconn Intel P35MARS 775 Mainboard - Aria Technology

As for the difference between the E6850 or the Q6600, it all depends on what you will be using it for. The E6850 performs very well for single threaded software where it can make use of the fast CPU. However if your going for video editing and/or multi threaded applications then the four cores of the quad would be a better bet.

I personally have just bought MSI P35 Platinum LGA 775 Motherboard - Aria Technology

A little cheaper than the others without sacrificing performance.
 
Yes, Asus is great I think, but they didn't included Mempipe into their P35 models and I want it so badly... Should I suggest them to do it and wait for a bit?

Well, best really comes down to what specific criteria you're asking for.
Asus has excellent motherboards, which is good, as their support is--at least from what I've heard--nonexistant. My other gripe is their website. I hate their website, as do most people. Again, their boards are typically fantastic, but the support end is a killer.
While the memory pipe is nice, it's going to really put a wrench in the works for any upgrading you'd like to do as far as RAM is concerned. Yeah, you can remove it, but from the looks of it, you'll pretty much have to remove the motherboard to do that.

DFI is great, but due to the extensive BIOS options they tend to feature, I'd recommend against them for a newer builder. If you do your research and are willing to spend the time tweaking them, they are amazing boards. I love my NF4 Ultra-D, but I'd be hesistant recommending one to someone getting their feet wet in building their own.

ECS is fine. Typically a no-frills company, but for being a cheap brand, they work great.

Gigabyte is another good brand, and while they've not had a long history of enthusiast-class motherboards, they've had solid products.

MSI. Pretty good all around, and a safe bet. Typically, they're not the killer overclocking boards, but I've used several of their boards without so much as a glitch. I would certainly recommend them.

I've heard good things about Biostar, and they look like the poor man's DFI, but I have never used their products personally.

[strike]Abit[/strike] abit. I haven't used anything of theirs in recent history, not since being renamed "abit". They had a good reputation beforehand, but they've had a little trouble getting their stride since being purchased by USI a few years back.

I've played with a lot of brands throughout the years, and the only brand I'd avoid would be Epox. However, the company seems to have folded, so it's more of a non-issue. PC Chips would be the only other company that I'd really steer clear of.
 
Yeah, it's no use - I can't reach ASUS via email, neither any other way. I hate such companies, that can't be reached.

Still want the Mempipe! Maybe I should wait a bit.

P.S. Big B, thanks for your particular participation in my thread. But what about Foxconn? I've heard, that they have Gladiator BIOS. Personally - I don't really care about overclocking too much... maybe this will be changed in future! Thanks...
 
Asus is a great manufaturer of mobos but i have found from personal experience that gigabyte are the best in terms of good quality and price, Asus are on the more expensive side. Plus Asus mobos are rather dull in colour black and dark blues but Gigabyte use an array of red, yellow, oranges and blue which looks great if you got a see through side panel on your case. The best P35 mobo around is the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard its around £70 which is cheap and you get allot out of it, great for overclocking too.
