I am in the process of building a new pc soon and want to know what are some of the better motherboards and some of the worst motherboards out right now. Im sure this question has been asked here before, but I am new to this forum.

AMD or Intel? What do you want to do with the new rig? How much can you spend?

Intel definetely, and I dont want to spend more than $130. I have seen quite a few motherboards under that price. zipzoomfly seems to have pretty descent prices.

and this is going to be a gaming pc, im going to install 2gb of ram as well, already have a 128mb video card.

Abit's IS7 series of boards are quiet nice. Easy to work with, stable, and if you plan on overclocking, they're good for that as well. Depending on the variation, you can get one running anywhere from about $80-120.

I haven't personally dealt with ZipZoomFly before, but I can recommend Newegg.

Thanks for the advice.

It all depends on what features you want. If you want performance, go with the Abit IC7 which is $120 at newegg.com

If you want features go with the IS7-G which I guess would be well in your price range but I can't find a place that sells it.

Keep in mind that the IS7 will still perform very good and will probably outperform some canterwood boards.

Thanks for the advice, this is what I got.

That's supposed to be a pretty sweet board, and very forgiving in memory configurations (well, that's the chipset).
