Building my first system...

never bieng keen on amazon, yes thats why i want to buy from newegg, they have a massive selection, bazzillionssssssssssssssssssss of graphics cards ;p

hmm,how much extra performance would i get from a venice 3500+ than a newcastle 3500+

how much extra performance will a sandiego 3700+ have than a newcastle 3700+

Also, were do they get these names from (san diego, venice, newcastle, winchester,)
lol are they all locations, 2 of em are in the uk, and proberbly usa aswell, 1 in france, and another in the use, why place names? :P

Quite a bit actually concidering that SanDiego is socket 939 only and NewCastle was for 754 so you'll see like up to a 20% boost if you're lucky in some tasks. As for the place names I can't really say, other than you're correct about that, was Barton a city somewhere? Otherwise it would seem like only the 64-bit chips took on place names, could very well be wrong about that though.

check some other sites, newegg is good but sometimes its prices are a bit high, and shipping costs a load.

wow, a xaser, i envy you, but i got my vento :)
I buy from Newegg also , but I also buy from ZipZoom Fly and hardly ever hear them mentioned. I just got thru getting my stuff for new puter and had to use both to get all I wanted. Such as;
NEWEGG
XASER III V2000A case $159.00
W/D 36 gig Raptor 116.00
Plextor 716A Burner 106.99
Scanner 84.25
Card reader 13.99
Floppy 11.00
Shipping 32.41

Zipzoomfly

Leadtek 7800GTX Video $554.99
Maxtor 300gig SATA H/D 177.50
Coolermaster 555W power supply 119.00
Athlon 64 4000 retail 473.90
Asus A8N-E M/B 113.00
Corsair 3200C2PT 2GB memory 250.00
Shipping 00.00

Pretty hard to find one place that has it all at the best price. What I really like about Zip is the freight is built into the selling price. Most all is " Free 2nd Day " , except cases.
