I understand what you mean. Probably the best implementation in a stock kernel I've ever seen is in newer Knoppix/Overclockix/Ubuntu/other-Debian-based distros. It's just like having a native Linux filesystem, if you set the partition to mount as R/W.Big B said:Yeah, the automount does work, it's a matter of getting the NTFS reading to work properly.
