Can't Open Zipped Files In Windows 7

I have a user that is having issues opening a file after she's unzipped it. She has windows 7, she can click on teh zip file, extract the files, but when she clicks on the files they will not open. When she forwards the zip file to me, I can open them fine on my Windows 7 machine. I can't seem to find a solution to this. I downloaded winzip for her, and that works, but I'd rather have the issue resolved how it should be working in Windows. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
 
Well, First thing is to a get Zip software installed, and Not use Windows 7 default zip ware. Winzip is Good, But not free.. There are allot of Free zip software that would work..

Probably file is compressed with special compression settings so Windows don't recognize it correctly. Free ZIP program http://www.7-zip.org/
 
Try repairing the Zip archive by following these steps or read and learn topics below, last one resources is dedicated for severe corruptions of .zip archives

Try repairing the Zip archive by following these steps:

Click Start -> Click All Programs-> Click Accessories
Right click on the Command Prompt and Run as Administrator ( Left click Command Prompt for Windows XP)
Change directories to the file folder of the damaged Zip file is located
Type: "C:Program FilesWinZipwzzip" -yf zipfile.zip
If the damaged file is spanned or split, use the following command:
"C:Program FilesWinZipwzzip" -yfs zipfile.zip

NOTE: This might not be a fool proof solution and you might loose the valuable data. Create a backup file before you carry out above mentioned steps.
