CPU switch?

Hi

I have a packard bell which has a sjm11-yk motherboard, it is the same as gateway LT3104 range as netbooks but with a different label. It has a L110 AMD athlon processor.
I happened to get hold of a AMD turion 64x2 TL56 processor recently, both this and the L110 processor seem to have the same socket and some similar detail (look at link).
http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/81..._64_X2_Mobile_technology_TL-56_(rev._F2).html

Is it possible that I can switch the two?

Please help me out.

Thanks a lot.

PS: I made a post in another thread in the same forum, my mistake. Sorry for that.

Both of them seem to have the same socket and also the same bus speed. Looking at both of them and the motherboard specs, you should be able to switch them.

According to the manual there should be four latches inside. It might be possible that you haven't pressed one of them down enough.

Hi
managed to get it off...it took a swiss knife and a little bit more pressure on it :D

When you put back the old CPU, did it turn on properly? If it does, that rules out a connection issue. It might be possible that the motherboard doesn't support the type or instruction sets of the CPU.
