crossfire or sli

im looking at different motherboards compatible to run 2 graphics cards together
and keep coming across crossfire and sli does any one know the difference and whats the best

crossfire is the name of the technology which enables you to run two ATI graphics cards together and SLI is the same except you use two nvidia Gfx cards.

Which is better? well we can't say untill we see how the R600 goes (thats ati's new dx10 card) For now you don't want to get sli dx10 cards because the drivers are... hmm how to put this... oh yeah... they're NOT WORKING AT ALL!.

Its not wise to buy two dx9 cards because you might as well get one dx10 card that will outstrip the sli cards. Basically id say that you should see if ATI brings out something special with the R600 and see if nvidia and microsoft can get things together. Then look at splashing cash on sli
