CRT Monitor capacitor question.

Hi All,

I have an old 8 yr old Samsung Samtron 55V CRT monitor, which I got it repaired yesterday because of heavy flickering problem since the last couple of months! I did notice that technician replaced a faulty on board filter capacitor:

defective on board - 150 uF
Replaced with - 220 uF

Will there be any problem with this monitor performance or will it draw lot of power? My domestic power line is 220-240V AC. Please reply.

No I agree overrating by so little should be fine, it is underrating that you need to be careful with.

Be careful if you are poking about in the back of a CRT, very dangerous!
Unless you are on a 3inch thick rubber matt in a proper electronics lab! Even then - I stay clear!

Thanks for your suggestion but am not fiddling with that CRT monitor as I aware of such dangers. Now there is no problem with that monitor :)
