Hey guys

I am looking for DVD video burning software for Linux. Can anyone recommend a good piece of software? Preferably written in GTK but will use QT.

Hmm, I guess that depends on what you mean by that. If you mean burning DVD ISOs, use K3b. For DVD copying (e.g. to single-layer DVD-Rs), look to K9 Copy or xdvdshrink. For DVD transcoding (e.g. DVD to Xvid), I prefer DVD::Rip.
 
I am referring to burning .avi & .divx files to DVD so I can play them on conventional DVD players.

also, acidrip is pretty cool
I used that for a while. It's quite glitchy, and most options aren't implemented right at present. I don't think the author is actively developing it anymore either... But that all being said, I did really like it for ripping movies as h264.

hmm, i haven't really had any issues with it, but i guess i'll have to keep an eye out. Its just pretty simple, so i like it.
