Firefox lost all bookmarks

I came to use a bookmark the other day and they had all disappeared. I dont where firefox keep its bookmarks but the favorites in documents and settings is an old version of the favourites. There are loads missing.

Does anyone know where firefox keeps all its bookmarks so I can see if my new bookmarks are there.

In fact something must be wrong because I just pressed forward slash and it tried to do a search, ie ctrl-f.
 
No worries, ive fixed the bookmarks.

They were in application data. Luckily it back them up what seems like every day so I just used yesterdays backup. (They disappeared two days ago so how yesterdays backup was up to date I dont know.)

I just need to sort out the forward slash now.

Ive just noticed all my search engines have gone missing as well.
