First Intel build

Ive been working and building PC's for some time now and I've always said AMD FTW! but I've been asked by a friend to build him an Intel system and he insisted that it be Intel. So i just have a few questions on so of the parts that i have picked.

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor - Retail at Newegg.com
Mobo - ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail at Newegg.com
PSU - SeaSonic S12-600 600W Power Supply - Retail at Newegg.com
RAM - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail at Newegg.com
GPU - eVGA GeForce 8800GTX 768-P2-N831-AR HDCP Video Card - Retail at Newegg.com

and I'm gonna use WD raptors for the hdd

just wanted to see if this system would be compatible and also anyone know anything about this mobo and if its good or not?

all of this plus the HDD will be around $1700 total
 
All i can say for that is, Awsome, amazing system, your freind should be very please with his new system.

Unfortunatly, the prices at newegg are alot cheaper than everywere else, well this is the good point, but the bad point is, they dont deliver to the UK, i was really annoyed when i found that out :(, some of there stuff is twice as cheap as stuff in the uk.

With a system like that, if your freind can afford it, go for the E6800 or EX6800 whatever it is, but there very expensive.

Oh, but is your freind in the us?, are you aswell? i just thought you may be in the uk, as you have a UK flag.
 
:P, well then, you've got a good system there.

I would think maybe the EX6800 Core 2 Duo would be nice for that system concidering that you have the Worlds best GPU in there!, but i am not sure if there is any difference apart from clock speed, and i belive that all the core 2 duo's are brilliant overclockers, apparently the 1.8ghz E6300's can get up to 2.9ghz, so on second thought, everyhting seems fine from what i see, cpu, mobo, gpu, ram, psu all good, psu is brilliant quality too, Seasonic make some of the best PSU's from what i ahve heard :).
 
yeah this is gonna be my first time using seasonic also...ive always used antec psus which are half decent

HP announced they will (were) released on Nov 13, but im sure there would be more google returns if this was the case. Id imagine they will milk the Core 2 Duo more first, I would if I were Intel.
 
You can preorder them on Overclockers.co.uk and pay the small price of £763.74 for one. But I think they have already been released.

They have only released the Extreme Edition - puts people off and makes us buy the Core 2 Duos as zeus said.
