first post i have a problem!

my friend is looking to upgrade ram and hdd space on his HP laptop.
ram is a simple concept for upgrading but ive never bought a new hdd and installed it.


my question is how would i transfer all his files to the new hdd to boot up the vista on his current laptop hdd


ps. i have acess to more computers and an external hdd to hold massive files

if he has vista ultimate then you can backup with a mirror image of the drive to your usb drive. then install the new hhd and run the backup utility and load the mirror backup to the new drive.
