FX 5200 Nightmares

I just bought myself an FX 5200 (not for gaming)
I installed the software and everything loks find.

I connected my TV and want to watch movies, but I got 2 problems.

Setting 1:

Clone
There is a view of the movie on the pc but not on the TV.
VLC is pitch black, but the desktop is showing.

Setting 2:

Dual View
There is a picture of movie on my TV but the colour is RED. Normal picture/photos is okay. So not a colour adjustment.

Where I can start looking for the problem?
 
be patient!

have you set the correct resolution for you TV (usually 640x480)? you don't mention the type of TV you have? CRT? LCD? so resolution could be higher!

Try using alternative media player such as [google]Media Player Classic[/google].
 
Buy a Video-S cable with SCART. Scart is connected to TV and other to S-Video output.

Now, setting up your VGA to show coloured display on TV.

Right Click on Desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Click on FX 5200 TAB -> Click on nView Display Settings -> Display Mode: Single display and choose Current Disply: TV display.
WARNING! Make sure you are connected your VGA to TV before doing this. You will need to do some operations while viewing TV.
Now, when you have done this, click Device Settings on the right side of Control Panel and click on ... ( sorry, i dont remember really now :D , but one which you can't see when you use monitor will appear). Choose S-Video from the list (types of connection or display i dont remember - i had FX 5500 few years ago and had same problems).

It should work, but remember - quality is far from good :) For viewing DVDs - its okay, but not for working. DVI should be better decision, but problems is - i've never tried it.
 
Resolution 640x480 is set by default (if TV is CRT type). No need to change resolution.

He said it's all about colour. Nothing to do with resolution.
