The thing about a lot of country that I seem to run across is that it's more or less pop music with a steel guitar and singing with a southern accent. It seems like a lot of country has sold out...I'm still not a big fan of country music, but there's a vast difference between Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Elvis (yes, Elvis did country) and artists like Shania Twain and Big & Rich.

Unfortunately all the county they play on the radio during bus rides where I live sounds exactly the same, and not in a good way. I'm really not a fan of county and it doesn't help that I hear that same songs over and over.
County metal is quite the odd varient though. Rebel meets Rebel is about as close as I've come across that'd meet that discription.

You didn't have blues or classic rock or Vietnam era rock (not sure what to call it), not to mention psychadelic rock (I sure do like my rock `n roll  ). I just got done not long ago listening to Crimson and Clover (psychadelic rock genre), and am now listening to Free Bird, by Lynard Skynard. After this I may listen to the Animals or the Who, or Steppen Wolf or something. Most likely though will play some Stevie Ray Vaughn (blues).

I like so many genres. Classic Rock, Vietnam Era Rock, some Psychadelic Rock (go Pink Floyd), some Modern Rock, some Metal, Classical, a little bag pipes once in a blue moon is ok, traditional Middle Eastern type music is actually pretty cool sounding, Blues, Therion (the name of a band, but not sure what genre. They mix Metal and Opera, which actually kicks major a*s), some of that gospley type music you think of when you think of balck churches, and a ton of other genres that I don't know the name of.

I hate Emo (although I like a few songs), and absolutely despise rap.

Right now its Tool for me, going to see them in October. I'm also into Metallica, Godsmack and Korn. I just started getting into Children of Bodom, good stuff.

Currently I'm listening to the album Stone Sour - Come What(Ever) May extremely loud through my stereo. My brother has friends round and is playing his annoying chav "boooom boom chikka chikka *inexplicable noises possible someone speaking whilst drunk here* booooom booooom etc etc" and so I decided to drown that out with the sound of Corey Taylor - he sounds freaking amazing on this album!

megamaced At the moment I am going through a big Clash phase! Can't stop listening to London Calling

didnt a muslim bloke get arrested for telling a taxi driver he liked london calling while in the back of his taxi on the way to the airport. He were arrested cause the taxi driver thought he might want to blow up a plane.

It were in the news bout 2 months ago. very bizarre.

I voted other, currently listening to mostly indie with a bit of 'the cure' and simon + garfunkel thrown in for good measure

Yeah, I remember something about that but I can't remember the specifics

The Cure are one of my favourite bands. Love the albums Pornography, Kiss Me and Disintegration the most

Their older stuff (Dizzy up the Girl and older) would be rock, but their newer stuff, IMO, is more pop. Their very early stuff was punk (pre-Superstar Carwash) was mostly punk with Robby as the main vocalist instead of Johnny. I don't know about everyone, but I think that pretty much everything before Superstar Carwash was pretty bad. It could've been the production, but their punk phase wasn't their most glamourous stuff.

Listening to Alan Price right now - that guy is a genius on the keyboards and his songs/music are great too :D

but mostly Ian Brown. Unfinished Monkey Business and Golden Great is class!

Yeah I love Unfinished Monkey Business. 'Corpses in her mouth' is a great song :) . Haven't heard Golden Great yet so i'll have to check it out. The debut Stone Roses album is still be best thing he's done though.

Yep the first stone roses album is awesome, Ian browns solo stuff tends to be either amazing or awful and unfinished monkey business is a good album.

Im listening to alot of gogol bordello, and novelle vague with a bit of metallica thrown in for good measure.

I tend to listen to a wide variety of music depending on where the mood takes me

The music i am loving at the moment is the old Metallica Stuff and a bit of stonesour.

My music taste varies alot. Sometime i love dance and then go to rock. :jump2:

same here, in the past year i have gone from stuff like slipknot, my chemical romance, athlete, white stripes, vines etc.. to stuff like, 50 cent, ludacris, lil jon and the east side boys, Three Six Mafia, and 80's music.

Right now i am listning to george benson - Give Me The Night.

Im also into disturbed alot aswell. And tanacious D lol

It depends what im doing to be honest. I prefer Dance when i am driving but at home rock. Its kind of weird really how different the music i like can be.

I just found out about 10 mins ago, that i like Jazz, i never thought to listin to it before, but its like... the best music ever, the saxaphone sounds so cool :good:
