I've been using google a fair amount lately, being away from your computer will do that to you. But the more i've been using google, the more i see how it could be considered an OS. I mean what do most people use a computer for, internet access and various software. Google has such a crazy range of software; word processor, image editor, scholarly information ie research information, and then a plethora of other software than can really only be found on Google. Like, i wouldn't say i'd be lost without Google, but its SSOOO convenient. I use product search and maps so much its crazy, and honestly, AIM is my sole way of txting, but its available through Gmail, (can't text through chat or gmail also, but yeah) I sound like and advertisement, but its crazy how little i have actually used an actual OS lately.

On google, did any of you ever try this stuff??

I can't see Google bothering with an OS...
It is one thing creating applications for a handfull of platforms and completely another thing to create a decent OS which will have to acommodate an infinate number of hardawre configurations.

I am assuming Google are not making any money from their actual applications, what incentive is there for this new giant to invest in an OS?
 
I should have stated in the first post, but i meant what people consider to be "Google OS" which is just basically all that google has to offer, they have a Live OS, vs a hardware based OS.

thats what i thought, i didn't really think it was an OS, as much as a "platform" off topic, but yes, the G1 is a sweet phone, and so is Android, and the open source apps.
