Graphics card upgrade... again *sigh*

Due to recent mobo upgrade, my Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256mb AGP is no longer compatible with my PC (it needs a PCI-E card). I managed to sell the card for £48!! and I'm now looking around for a replacement (I can't stand the nVidia 6100 onboard graphics any longer). I'm looking for something about £50 that should be as good as or better than my old card. I only paid £50 for the old card 6 months ago, so I reckon for £50 a newer card might be slightly better.

The card has to be PCI-E and around £50. I've got a couple of ideas from looking around, but I'll see if anyone comes up with anything better first.

A GeForce 6600/6600GT (faster clockspeed) would do the job and around your price point. I wouldn't go much lower or you might as well stick with your on-board video.
 
Thanks for that, I was looking at a 6600, but I didn't know it was the equivalent. I'll look into it some more.

The 6600GT would be close to a Radeon 9800XT, if memory serves, so it would be an upgrade. Just don't get an LE. An LE is a crippled variant of the series, so it performs drastically worse than others in that family.
 
The 6600GTs are good cards, not high-end but they will give you pretty decent performance in most games.
